After a
very, very long time in a Music Centre Pavarotti
in Mostar a concert has been holden, which
attracted solid number of people, considering
that such the reply of the public was boring on
simular plays.
A concert was holden on Saturday the 27th october
1999 on a day of 57th anniversary of the birth of
great man of rock'n'roll (but not only R'N'R but
also the music in general) Jimi Hendrix and that
was also the cause of the concert.
The play should have started at 20:30 but because
of the concert of seriouse music which was holden
in the rooms of the Centre, the concert
performance was being late for hour and a half.
But this didn't disturb the young people who
until the beginning of the concert, could watch a
video-film about Jimi's life, his starts,
friends, parents and successes.At 20 o'clock the
concert, at last, has began, which was opened by
people of "Sarajevo Drum Orchestro and
Percussion Found" from Mostar. People have
enjoyed theirs two things (songs, some new, some
very new) in afro-mythim. After them, for the
first time in Mostar and the Music Centre a group
Šopa a tribute bend from Trebinje appeared on
the scene and they used theirs half a hour to
introduce themselves to the public of Mostar.
Unfortunatly they introduce themselves with two
top-songs of Skunk Anansie, them with two
Hendrix' songs. Their last, song they have
played, was very, very happy funky thing (their
song) which leaded young people to that rhythm
and there they were also kept by the people of
the groupe "Spider". Otherwise they
have appeared to the scene as the drum and bass
double. By my opinion (how important is my
opinion?) the performance of the last ones which
we could hear and watch, were much better and
more alive. The most intense group on concert,
and in Mostar at all, the group for which would
many people claim that it comes from a hard core
enviroment (which Mostar isn't) was the group
"The Clown" (to me very favourite).
They played for us five songs, one of them were
new in the intense punk rhythm.
Mo Selection had
it's own usual performance. The public was,
probably, as for theirs private appearance as
also for their play, mostly following their three
songs in the chair and (that how much they
played) with a feeble applause and some wheestle.
About the group "Mask" there is nothing
much to write about. They played their plays they
alway play and showed that they are good
technicians on instruments, but uncreative ones.
The concert
closed Mara with his new-old bend (a drummer and
guitar player are new, but the rest are old
members). For me, that would be the best end of
the concert if only the technician od sound had
made more effort. But despite of that, they
played for us three new songs which have sounded
much more intense and more energetic from what we
could usually hear on concerts and from that what
we can hear on Mara's CD
"Through"(KROZ). It's a pitty that
there wasn't much public to see and hear that.
At the end there
isn't nothing left but to say to people from the
Pavarotti Centre and to the people in the town,
which are able to origanise a concerts, (but not
the folk concerts) that young people are longing
for good play and fun, because we are living in a
black hote, which isn't offering anything. So ar
least they could offer us a good concert, from
time to time, which would show us that we are
still alive, that we aren't vegetating.
