This club was founded
1936 and then this sport was really unknown to
the all people of this town. Those were first
steps and as the all begins this was also
primitive but productive. But even now after more
than 60 years a lot of people don't know about
this sport, which is growing up in the shadow of
the other more popular sports. This club has a
lot of results from the competitions in the
Bosnia & Herzegovina and also from the
international competitions. Members of the
Air-club Mostar wer e the part of the
representation at the World Championship in
Israel. Where our representation won 3 gold and 1
bronze medal.
This sport,
although a lot of people think it isn't, is very
exhausting and difficult. Only the competition
lasts for 7 or 8 hours (it depends on the
weather). That means to be on the some kind of
the meadow sorrounded with nothing. Usually these
are places with no water and anything else that
could make competition little bit easier. And
also beside being on that meadow you have to run
for your model, which can be very long maybe even
for few kilometers with your look in the sky. But
also this sport gives you a moments of pleasure
when you are looking to your model and feeling
that you are flyinf with it just as well. Because
of the l ittle popularity of this sport I highly
recommend this sport to alll who like combination
of the sport and technics. And you will not only
go to the competitions you will also visit a lot
of the countries where the competitions are held
Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Spain.
At this moment
in the air-club Mostar there are two sections.
One is free flight section and the other is
section of the rocket models. Free flight models
are the models that don't use any kind of the
motor or the power. These models are: gliders
(F1A), rubber powered models (F1B) and climbers
(F1C). F1B and F1C are using motor only to climb
to exact hight. Section of the rocket models is
doing the flying models of the rockets, which are
just as same as the big rockets. After all this I
have nothing to say except join us, who knows
maybe someday you could became pilot of the first class airplane.
