Two most famous names of the hacker time, with Dannis Ritchiea (aka DMR) and Ken Thompsona (aka Ken) who invented UNIX in Bells research center, are Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. Jerry Rubin his carrier finished very quickly i start to work on wall Street. His friend Abbie Hoffman walks hole different ways. 

His most famous work is book “Steal this book” in which he describe how to live useing state, and how don’t let state to use you. Abbie used method called Phreaking or stealing phone impulse. They done that with help of boxes, and the inventor of first box is John Draper (aka Cap’n Crunch), vietnam veteran. 

The trick was to make a tone of 2600 Hz wich is neccesary for autorisation of calls, that is tricking the system, what will make possible for user to make free calls. After first box, there was a lot of them. Some of boxes, in their collage days were selling, for fun only, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, founders of Apple. 

At year of 1971. Abbie with a person known like Al Bell starts a magazine called Youth International Party Line. All methods and ways of stealing impulse was described in it, and the result was escape of Abbie in front of FBI in Mexico, France and US. 

During that time he survived with help of anarchists and part time jobs, and at the end he made plastic operation and changed his name in Barry Freed. But anyway he surrended to FBI at 1980. He was convicted because of cocaine, and in 1989 he commited a suicide. That was one of biggest investigations in US ever. However, is he alive or not, for the hackers he is the great guru.
