Sports-fishing contests have always attracted all fishing man who loved to hang with other fish-men and who always had contest spirit. Those contests were an opportunity for sporting measure of strength and for meeting old friends. For all that this places have a special meaning, something specific and very useful about them... something that bring people together.

One such area was being built in 1984. in Mostar, near the place where Bunica pours into river Buna, in a beautiful natural environment, full of green color. That was the first permanent area for fishing in BiH, and it was built by enthusiastic people of Fishing Community of Mostar.
The competent management of the construction of this area was confided to Slavko Lovrić, but the supervising organ of management was Hamdija Salković. These two men did everything so the fish-men could now have such sporting area. On the same day, when it was built 15.10.1984. a contest (first Cup of BiH) was being hold. The winners of the Cup were contesting people from Visio, the second place people from Tuzla and the third place was won by people from Mostar.

During the war this area has suffered small destructions, but after the Nikola Puce’s visit the president of the Community of Fish-men “Neretva” from Mostar, a decision was made to approach to the repair of all damage, so there could soon be a sports contest organized.
