PAUSE |
Today's rain has no end.
Today's rain has lost its beginning.
I step toward you thinking how many days we see each other
like this.
And we talk...
We talk as usual-
slowly and smartly.
Everything that I now see reminds of That Town
which remains for our kind of people at the end.
Our kind of people love old-fashioned movies. They nurture
the adopted vanities.
Your silence clears my thoughts again.
When it passes I will bestow mine upon you. Let them make love
as only silences know how.
In the pause of Everything I tell you what I intended
to say tomorrow...
And yesterday too.
Coffee in the cups is waiting patiently obeying
the tapping of our desires. I love the rain when it is not cold
and we drink coffee in the places where the waiters do not like
their guests,
in the places where music is no good either.
To such places we go more and more, especially when such rain
is falling... when everything remains behind us.
I ask myself if I will have a place of my own in another town
and someone like you
to fill up the afternoons of wet Thursdays, Wednesdays,
Mondays
and the rest of them...
I worry a bit... not because of me, but for the silence.
You know already... I know that you know.
