WEATHER AND GEOGRAPHYC POSITION
Mostar is situate on both banks of Neretva. Right side is more spacious,
float and tame, so this part of the city is bigger. The left bank is covered by
the southern hill-sides of Prenj and western hill-sides of Velez and that's why
this bank is much thiner so this part of city is sheerer, whiter and smaller.
In
the middle of the town, near Old bridge, Neretva takes her right tributary
Radobolja. The city is situate between 43,21º northern geographic latitude and
17,49º east geographic altitude. Mostar has mediterranian clime whit long and
hot summers and softly winter.
Snow is a real rarity for Mostar, but only for
the town. The peaks of Velez mountain are even in july. Quicksilver is hardly
ever under the 0, and when sometimes is snowing that's becouse the winds take
the snow-flakes from the mountains, and it last short.
One meteorologic data is
the best presentation of Mostar weather: average temperature during the year is
15ºC, average summer temperature is 24,3ºC and winter average temperature
6,1ºC.
With these ideal conditions Mostar doesn't have off seasons, so that's why it is
accessible for tourists in evry part of year. The influence of the sea is
present from the mouth of river and even a little bit northern of Mostar. In
this way are made extraordinary climatic conditions for bringing up agrums what
makes Mostar and whole southern Herzegovina famous.
In Mostar and surroundings
exist all types of agrums and we meet the other mediterranean plants.
Surroundings of Mostar are rich of grape, cherries, peaches and very good figs
and for very good climatic condition the fruit in this region mature before than
in the other regions. Thanks to these clime whole southern Herzegovina is fameus
