One
of the oldest preserved monuments of Turkish rule
period, is The Sloping bridge on Radobolja river.
This small bridge was built before 1558., it id
older then the Old bridge. According to some
narrations this small bridge was a prototype for
the building of the Old Bridge.
Single arch bridge, made of
white, soft stone linked Neretva banks on 1556.
The Old Bridges was constructed by Hajrudin,
architect on the Sultan Solaiman s court. Arch of
the bridge has a span of 28,70m, it s altitude is
21m, from the height of the summer water level. This stony jet of beauty arose sighs
through centuries. Those who saw it just once
admired it same as those who grow up in sahde of
its arch. Bridge successfully withstood
temptations of Neretva. During the winter this
river would rose almost to the top of Bridges
arch but it was of no consequences. The most
famous Turkish traveller from 17 century says
about the Old Bridge: Now, let everybody know
that I, poor and miserable God s servent, saw and
crossed sixt een empires but I never saw bridge
so high like this one. It's tossed over the rocks
raising high up to the sky.
The Emperor Bridge is a northernmost
bridge in Mostar. It was built in 1900 and
rebuilt after demolition in the last war. The
Lučki Bridge, he closest southern neighbour of
